Ullama of GB form Mili Yekjehti Council (MYC)

Gilgit—Four religious parties have decided to form a joint conciliatory body, Milli Yekjehti Council(MYC),  in Gilgit Baltistan to marginalize sectarian indifference .According to details a meeting of Shia Ulema Council,Majlis Wahdat Ul Mulameen, Jamat Islami and JUI was held in Gilgit.

Addressing on the occasion Sheikh Mirza Ali, Mulana Abul Sami, Sheikh Nayar Abbas, Mulana Maqsood and Mushtaq Ahmad said that religious harmony was necessary for the development and prosperity of the region.

They said "It is not the Ulama (Religious Clergy) who stimulate sectarian hatred. It is those selfish elements who, for their own heinous interests, divide people on sectarian lines”

They vowed to organize joint processions and shared programmes on the Day of Yom Ul Quds. It was also decided that the cabinet of MYC would be set up on 5th September. The religious leaders in the meeting expressed their optimism about the youth of the region that they would give hand in building religious harmony in the region.

The efforts of the religious leaders for peace are seen positively at times when the religious leaders face severe criticism that they are the catalyst for religious disharmony.

On the other hand, people have this fear that every time any major peace reconciliation or unity is shown something bigger coincides.
