Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Calls on Babar Awan.
The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan has called on the law Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Babar Awan on Thursday. He briefed the federal minister about the performance of his government, administrative activities and the working relations among different bodies in Gilgit-Baltistan. Mehdhi Shah thanked Babar Awan for his efforts to provide the Gilgit-Baltistan Bar Council a 10 million grant.
He requested Babar Awan to devise a public friendly policy regarding Gilgit-Baltistan so as to tackle the problems of the region efficiently.
The law Minister assured Mehdhi shah that he would take the issues of Gilgit-Baltistan to the presidency and make sure that the federal government will resolve the problems of the region on priority basis.
It is, however, deemed obscure why the Chief Law maker of Gilgit-Baltistan is asking the federal government to make friendly law and why Babar Awan promised to take the issues to Presidency instead of Prime Minister.
Mr. Babar Awan was invited to visit Gilgit-Baltistan which he accepted.
Earlier, a civil judge in Rawalpindi has convicted Babar Awan for forgery and fraudulence in a case registered against him in 1996. The law Minister during his hearing in Rawalpindi has denied the charges terming them politically motivated to smear his character.
